4.5 Tests.
4.5.1 Oxygen transmission rate. The oxygen transmission rate of the material shall be
determined in accordance with ASTM D 3985, at 73°F and 50 % RH. Any oxygen transmission
rate exceeding 0.06 cc/m2/24 hrs/atm shall be considered a test failure and shall be cause for
rejection of the lot.
4.5.2 Water vapor transmission rate. The water vapor transmission rate of the material
shall be determined in accordance with ASTM F 372, at 100°F and 90 % RH. Any water vapor
transmission rate exceeding 0.01 gm/m2/24 hrs shall be considered a test failure and shall be
cause for rejection of the lot.
